Did you think that having a carpentry license would be enough to sign off a complete project?

If you did, you are half right … according to the DBH

“A Carpentry LBP can carry out or supervise RBW involving things like timber-framed foundations, walls and roofs but if the wall is made of blocks then a Brick and Block laying LBP license will need to carry out or supervise that RBW work.

Similarly, a Carpentry LBP can carry out or supervise RBW involving timber weatherboard cladding but if the cladding uses solid plaster, and then an External Plastering LBP will be needed to carry out or supervise that particular bit of RBW”.

Why the concern … if builders are planning to do any building which involves brick and block work or external plastering from March 2012 it is time to talk to your subbies or obtain your own Brick and Block laying or External Plastering license along with your Carpentry license.
